For the farming world, the fire ritual once symbolized the abandonment of the old year and the welcoming of the new one. In villages, every year on January 16th, small bonfires called “focareddhe” were lit, made with bundles of vine shoots and dedicated to Saint Anthony the Abbot for the necessary blessing. Over time, this tradition has gradually disappeared, and for this reason, Feudi di Guagnano, with the help of its collaborators, has been reintroducing it in its most original form, emphasizing true conviviality.
Music, fireworks, and street food characterize this event held every mid-January. The local community also participates, offering Salento culinary specialties, which are given for free to tourists and locals. The event is scheduled for Saturday, January 18th, at 7:30 PM in the square in front of the winery. In case of rain, the event will take place the following day at the same time
